Learn About Our Upcoming Clinics
As fellow pet lovers, we intend to keep you well informed about our upcoming clinics and charity events. Our last spay and neuter clinic was held on June 5th and 6th and was a huge success. 79 animals were spayed and neutered. We are currently looking for helpers and donations for our next clinic.
This video was made in 2001 – so a few facts have changed. We have now had near 10.000 companion animals spayed and neutered. It has made a huge difference in our area.. Guanacaste is, or should I say was, more farm country with the people living very simple lives. Tourism had now made its impact – the upside of this being that many Costa Ricans now work in Hotels, restaurants or tourist related activities. No one wants farm work anymore. Unfortunately there is still a lot of poverty with many families living on one small wage. The Costa Ricans are a kind and gentle people – it is these low income families that we help. A female, often very skinny blooms after being spayed, even on the same diet they somehow fatten up. And the same with the males.
Cats are now pets – a miracle here as before they were considered unlucky – probably because they bred so quickly and can become so feral so quickly..
